It is earlier than usual, but I wanted to start this before I forget.
Leave your well-wishes for George's 50th birthday here and I will be posting comments on June 9th on the front page.
I will start first:
What can I say that haven't been said already, George Perez is the nicest guy and have inspired me to draw more often. I will always remember the first time I bought CRISIS #1 and marveled at all the great art in the book. It wouldn't be too long before I started buying TEEN TITANS because it had the art
It's funny how things ended up this way - me, running a website on George Perez... when about six or seven years ago I thought George would NEVER know the dedication (the obsession!) I have about buying every comic book that featured Perez art.... Then I found out that, of course, I'm not alone. There are so many fans out there that's even crazier than I am !
I believe George is on vacation in Europe, for his 50th birthday... which is much-deserved after that dreaded JLA/AVENGERS #3, haha.

Dear George, Happy Birthday, George! It's been fun having you around to entertain us this long! Hope to see more of your kick-ass work! You have always been my favorite artist since reading the old Avengers and Fantastic Four issues. Then I've been blown away by your awesome work in CRISIS, Teen Titans, Hulk"Future Imperfect, WonderWoman, JLA, Infinity Gauntlet, and etc! You have become my strongest influence in doing crowd artwork most especially when it involves the Avengers/JLA! Take care now! Thanks for your inspiring and dedication for comic art!! Forever fan, Ralphjavascript:adds(";D")javascript:adds(" ")javascript:adds(" ") TEXTTEXT

Happy Birthday George all the way from London, England, I first saw your art in the JLA/Avengers crossover and I admired your artwork. Years ago I gave up reading comics, I had the Marvel Heroes Reborn, these were reprints of the originals, and I was into them, buying them every month, but during the late stages of school, I stopped buying them. Then years later, around 2003/4, I saw something about JLA/Avengers, and I had to buy that, and I did, and through those months (5-6 months including the delay) I was totally hooked on the buzz surrounding the titanic crossover, and I really enjoyed everything in the crossover and I thank you for bringing me back to where I belonged all those years ago, so Happy Birthday George Perez and keep bringing all that good art...........

Justice League of America, Teen Titans & Crisis on Infinite Earths.
Just three titles that started my comic collecting. Those together with George's entries in who's who placed George on the pedestal he resides on as one of the greatest comic book artists ever!
Last year I had flown out from England to the Mega Con in Florida to do some filming and ended up covering the entire weekend for Crossgen. I got to see George is close querters that weekend talking with fans and creators alike and he had the same thing for each person, a smile and a chat.
A true gentle soul that belies his larger than life personality (not to mention his taste in shirts!).
I got to spend a few minutes chatting to George and he spoke to me like he's known me forever, all this whilst blasting off an incredible sketch of Robin.
Happy 50th George!
May the sun shine on you today and all days, may the wind be at your back and may you ride on into the next fifty years, laughing and drawing all the way.
See you next Wednesday in Edinburgh with a belated birthday card.

Happy 50th to the man who made me read comics. I first saw your work in The Avengers waaaaaay back in 1976 and have been following you ever since. You are a gentleman and a credit to your profession. Be well and be happy!

I recently received one of the greatest honors of my life when George illustrated a story of mine in Common Grounds (and my gosh, was it beautiful). I've been a huge fan since 1974, and for me, George is IT. Thank you for decades of enjoyment and wonder, Mr. Perez, and I wish you the happiest of birthdays.
