Mr. Perez I am long time Wonder Woman fan and an even bigger George Perez fan since I can remember. Your Wonder Woman run is one of the best runs I have ever read and probably my favorite all time collection of storylines. I have a deep respect for the way you thoughtfully redefined Wonder Woman down to the minute details of her powers.
Wonder Woman has recently has been depicted in what many fans would consider a less than respectable fashion by DC comics (the final pages of Superman/Batman #15 come to mind). The gruesome depiction of Superman strangling Wonder Woman with her own lasso was an image I never thought I would ever see in my lifetime let alone published by DC Comics. In this very same comic we have an enraged Superman easily manhandle Wonder Woman and shatter her silver bracelets.
In an attempt to reconcile this comic event with the details of your groundbreaking work on Wonder Woman I respectfully ask that you answer a few questions for my 'peace of mind" and that of other fans who admire your work. In defining the abilities of Wonder Woman's bracelets in WW#21 you have the entire Greek pantheon hurl a blast, composed of their combined might, at Wonder Woman's bracelets. Wonder Woman's bracelets were used to deflect this blast, an act by which you were able to communicate how durable said bracelets are.
Does Superman or any other of Wonder Woman's peers, in your opinion, have the might to shatter Wonder Woman's bracelets (which would define him as more powerful than a pantheon of gods) or was this a possibly a product of artistic license?
I often find myself concerned that the careful work you did on defining this iconic character will be lost over time and that Wonder Woman will once be mired in the same disrespect and inconsistent portrayal of pre-Crisis.
