Hi, my name is Josh Dahl and I am a big fan.
Of course, I loved your JLA/Avengers stuff.
I took some of the pages in as examples of super-hero art in the class I am teaching in a Boston teen lock-up. The short story is that i teach art at a school for teens who have been convicted of crimes and sent away.
It's hard to engage a lot of these kids in anything as abstract as art.
Well, one of the kids who I have managed to get some great work out of is a Puerto Rican kid named Perez. I showed him your work and told him about your work on Teen Titans.
He said "He's Spanish?"
"Well," I said "He's named Perez."
He responded "That's great, because not a lot of Spanish people make it far in life."
Of course, that made me a little sad.
I told him that I would find your email address and see if you had any comments or words to add on this subject.
