I used to love the JURASSIC PARK movies ( there were parts of THE LOST WORLD that were extremely cheesy, but hey, it was a dinosaur movie...and dinosaur movies RULE). The reason I say that I USED to love them is because I have done something i have been meaning to for years...I read the JURASSIC PARK and THE LOST WORLD novels by Michael Crichton. I understand totally that cinema and novels are two separate media...but i don't think i'll ever be able to look at the movies the same way again. John Hammond was the VILLIAN in the first book for Pete's sake! For some reason, I have never really had a problem with movies based on novels that are given the "Hollywood Treatment" and changed ( such as Tarrantino's version of Elmore's RUM PUNCH, JACKIE BROWN). I think the reason I am bothered by the Jurassic series is because I did NOT read the books first before watching the movie. I rewatched the first PARK and it just didn't seem the same, but I still enjoyed the movie. However, when I rewatched LOST WORLD after reading the novel, I kept shouting and heckling at the screen! What I want to know is...if I had that reaction to LOST WORLD after seeing the movie before reading the book, what were the reactions of those of you who read the book first THEN saw the movie? When the girl killed the velociraptor with her GYMNASTICS OF DOOM, I thought I would have to wrap my head in duct tape to keep it from exploding this time! David Burcham.

I kind of disagreed when they made Kingpin black in the movie Daredevil, but I think it worked out okay in the movie.
I think it's odd that Peter Parker could shoot web from inside of him.... That's just wrong.
