There is some my-t fine reading at www.411mania.com for movie buffs. Under the movie section, there is a column written by Will Helm called "Misunderstood Masterpieces." It is one of the best movie review columns I have ever read. The deal is: Helm is looking for a special movie to review for the 50th "...Masterpiece" and is asking readers for suggestions. I have suggested the George Lucas, Jim Henson, Terry Jones, and David Bowie collaberation, LABYRINTH. He liked the idea and said he would do it if enough people vote for it. Here's what I ask: visit the site, read a few of his reviews, and e-mail that he MUST do LABYRINTH as the big #50. Grass roots, people. GRASS ROOTS! David Burcham

(singing)
"Dance, magic dance In my pants magic pants..."
I love that movie! Even though David Bowie's pants scared me the first time I watched it.
411 also have decent sections on comics, toys, music, video games, and the best wrestling columns on the 'net. They also have the uber-cool 411 Black.

Okay, well I finally got around to watching the DVD (sorry, it's hard to schedule time to *really* watch a movie). I have seen Labyrinth before - on television a long time ago....
Anyway, I love all the little tricks - like the illusionary walls or the "I always tell lies/truth" guys.
But, what's the deal with David Bowie's pants ? He stuffs....

Check this out. In the fall I will be the President of the Upsilon Sigma chapter of Phi Theta Kappa (the international community college honors program) at ICC in Fulton, Mississippi. Our halmark theme in the upcoming school year is "Pop Culture's Influence on Society." I did a search on famous people born in Mississippi to try and find some pop culture icons other than Elvis and Oprah. JIM HENSON was born in Mississippi!!! That's right, kiddos...we can claim Kermit the Frog and Ernie from Sesame Street! But my suprise kept growing as I read. Here is only a PARTIAL list of famous Mississippians: Football legends Jerry Rice and "Sweetness" Walter Peyton! Morgan Freeman! Bob Pittman- founder of MTV! Blues legends B.B. King, Bo Diddley, Muddy Waters, Howlin' Wolf, and Robert Johnson! Charlie Pride, the FIRST black Country/Western Superstar! Ray Walston from MY FAVORITE MARTIAN and FAST TIMES AT RIDGEMONT HIGH! Jimmy F'N Buffet!!! and probably one of THE greatest pop culture icons of ALL TIME... Darth F'N Vader himself...JAMES EARL JONES!!! Elvis, Oprah, Kermit, Easy Reader, Sweetness, MTV, and Darth Vader: MISSISSIPPI ROCKS!!!!!!!!!
