Okay...here's my problem with the Five Venom movies. My circle of friends and I have singled out NINE DEMONS as the recipiant of our wrath. It is one scene, and one scene alone, that has earned our ridicule. At one point, the hero of the film teleports a horse to his side...gets on the horse...starts riding down a path...then telports the horse again...while he is riding it !!??!!??!!??!! Now, my friends and I have seen plenty (and I do mean PLENTY) of Kung-Fu movies. We have seen our share of the fantastical, incredulous, discombobulated, bamboozadizziled, and otherwise ridiculous things imaginable. But that scene just takes the cake! If dude could teleport himself in the first place, WHY THE @#%&^%$@#$%%&&^^%$#@#@ DID HE TELEPORT A HORSE TO RIDE ON FIRST?

Avengers 30th Anniversary poster signed by George Perez and Tom Smith (Marvel Limited, 1994)
The poster is still in the original shipping tube and has only been taken out once a year (just to show it off ;D).
E-mail me and we'll haggle over it, but ONLY if you are serious!!!

I really don't know where to find a starting point to write a letter to George Perez! I guess the most appropriate way is with a sincere, heartfelt, "thank-you" for all you have done to entertain fans across the world with your art. I was a George Perez fan before I even knew you existed! The first comic book that I remember purchasing (without parental input) was the debut of the Salem's Seven in FANTASTIC FOUR. You may think me a liar, but every other comic book I had in my modest little collection had either a cover or interior art done by you. Keep in mind, I chose these books as a child who did not pay ANY attention to the "credit boxes" in comic books. I could have cared less who created the books! Then came THE NEW TEEN TITANS. That was when I started to take notice of the creative teams on the books. I went back through the comics I had collected until that point. It still amazes me that I was a fan of yours before I KNEW that I was a fan of yours (if that makes any sense)! I was entering into my teenage years when THE NEW TEEN TITANS was released. I grew up with a Titans comic always close at hand. The books by you and Mr. Marv were a great source of escapist adventure that helped me through a rough growing period in my life. The work by you and Mr. Marv also was a great introduction to the worlds of literature and fine art for me. I do not think I would have the love for the visual and written arts that I have today if not for the foundation built by you, Mr. George. After many trials and tribulations in my adult life, I decided to return to college and try to build a career on the two things I love the most, literature and art. My goal is to become a full-time English instructor while writing and illustrating children's books. (I would brag about my grades, but it would only show how STUPID I was by not doing the same thing when I grduated from high school in '87!) Mr. George, you have been a source of inspiration and entertainment to me for over 25 years. From the bottom of my heart, thank you!

Now I'm gonna HAVE to read "Disassembled."
Dammit!
Actually, Now that I have READ the preview at Mile High, I'm gonna give Bendis a chance. It seems that if everything he has been saying about Hank Pym in interviews is leading to hank turning evil on the Avengers. I believw, after reading the preview, that all this negativity about hank Pym by Bendis is nothing but a red Herring.
A McGuffin, if you will.
However, if I interpret what I perceive to be clues in the preview, long-time Avengers fans are STILL going to be ticked-off...but it will be a heckuva lot more creative than "Hank is the bad guy."
There seems to be an aweful lot of chaos in Avengers #500 previw. In all probability, I may be wrong and Hank IS the bad guy.
I think Bendis and Quesada are working the internet. Just like Marvel did with Sentry and "U Decide."
Bendis will have crafted a good story if Hank is not the killer...but damned if his dialouge doesn't suck!!! I read the opening page of the #500 preview and the discussion between Hawkeye and Antman reads like dialouge from a Mojo Jojo appearance in Powerpuff girls!

I haven't been as active on this 'board in the last few months myself! Maybe all the rgulars of the older 'board on this site are going through what I like to call "Turkey Withdrawl."
You know how after eating a BIG Thanksgiving meal everybody sits down, loosens their belts, and takes a nap? Well, fans of Mr. George have just been treated to the ultimate feast with JLA/Avengers. We need some cool-down time.
(urp...'scuse me)

Would that make the slipcase edition a tasty turkey casarole by using the same meat with extra goodies thrown in?
Yum!

HA! I am vindicated! Many of the local patrons here in Tupelo, MS, called me a liar when I said that this book exists. Eat summa DAT, Tupelo! Tony, From what I gather by the description, Perez did the intro only; but, can the "Perez Completist" inside you deny the necessity of owning this book? I know that I sure couldn't resist! And thanks for letting th' whole stinkin' world know what a CRAPPY scanner I have ,Vu. Thank you SO much!

I managed to get hold of a Feb. PREVIEWS before the owner of the local comic shop threw it away. This is how it reads (It is also a "Featured Item"):
"FAIRY LUST VOLUME 1: ELVIN EROTICA BY MELANIE TP by Melaline Klegerman Fersko
Featuring an introduction by George Perez! This all-new book of illustrations by fantasy writer and illustrator Melanie Klegerman Fersko showcases the sexier and feminine side of these mystical creatures....
MATURE READERS SC, 64pg, b&w...$9.95"
Funny thing is, the cover image of the book has the title spelled as "Faerie Lust".

There is a book offered in the Feb. PREVIEWS for an Artbook entitled FAIRYLUST. Although I would NEVER buy a book with a title like that (yeah, whatever self), the introduction was written by George Perez. Does this count as a "George Perez" item to be included on the checklist?
And if Perez did the intro, the art could be a lot better than the title implies.
Heh..............fairylust.
